Life Change

Lately it seemed that life was not on my side. It almost seemed like I was not getting any job offers or any interviews. Life was getting a little depressing. Then two weeks ago my mom told me to apply for a job at her clinic for the ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) department as a Patient Service Rep. That just means checking people in and out and other fun things like that. I emailed my mom's boss and everything to let him know how eager I was for this position.
So I applied for it. Then the next day I met with her boss when I took my mom and her friends some lunch. He told me he'd be talking to me soon, because my mom introduced me and told him I applied.
Well that same day I went to my dads office and checked my email. They said I did not meet the minimum requirements. My mom, being the strong willed person whom she is (and I love dearly), went asked him why I did not even get in? I had changed my resume around, played up my customer service experience and even talked about my CNA experience (which is only about a years worth, but hey if it helps!).
Well I got an email from the HR recruiter for them and they said they are going to push my application and resume through for consideration. So that was a good thing.
Then last week on Monday I got a call from Brandon (my mom's boss and clinic manager) and we had a phone interview. He told my mom that it was because of her that I got this interview. But because of my phone interview, I earned the face-to-face interview (I got this interview 20 minutes after my phone interview). So I went to face-to-face interview. on Wednesday, then on Thursday the HR department called and asked for references from my most recent work. This was a good sign my mom told me. So I gave them Chick-fil-a and my mentoring.
I was so excited because I had yet to make it this far since I got a job at Kolob in Cedar in 2007. My mentoring job and my internship were basically you were hired after meeting with the bosses.
Well Friday rolled around, and I was driving to Hailey's house to tend her kids for a couple hours, and I got a call from the HR department for IHC.
I GOT THE JOB!
So I went in for my screening on Friday and I go in this Friday for one more screening thing, then orientation is on Monday (the 30th), then my first day at the clinic is on TUESDAY!
I AM SO EXCITED! I will be making 11.89/hr which is THE most I have ever made. Considering this is my first job out of college, its a pretty big deal.
I will get benefits and everything when I chose to take them, and I can start saving money to pay off my debt! I can even look into moving out of my parents house within a few months!
Life is looking up and I am happier then I have been in a long time!
UNTIL NEXT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
