On no it isn't what you think, but I am celebrating 1 year. This year anniversary is special. Tomorrow marks one year at SelectHealth. I cannot imagine my life any differently. I remember being so nervous to start this change. It was terrifying being away from my mom and friends at the clinic. Even though I miss the shennanegans we would get into, I absolutely love it here. The work, the people, the career opportunities.
In just one year I have learned new programs, mastered ones I knew, made new friends, will have my CEAP, received 3 pay increases (including the one when I went from my pay at the clinic to SelectHealth), and expanded my professional network. I Invision more career opportunities in the future and I am ecstatically happy where I am today.
Much love to my job.
Some pics from this year.

A happy, healthier, and positive me! (And some updates)
I am probably annoying people these days with how happy I am. No, there is no man in my life and there is nothing too exciting other than work going on. But I was in a rut. I decided it was time to worry about Adriana. No more worrying about what others think, planning my day around other people, no more thinking I am too cool for church, and all that jazz. I decided I needed to get my act together and do good things for ME!

So what have I been doing? Well I started reading my scriptures again. I am LDS (if you did not know). If you are not sure what that is ... go to www.lds.org. I promise it is worth taking a look at. I also started journaling. When you have self discovery and revelations unto yourself you start to really look in the mirror and know that you are being a moody judy. Not fun!! Especially when I am my very own critique.
Another thing is, I have decided to force myself to be happy, positive, and kind. Even when I want to say things, it is better to hold my tongue than to say something that I will or will not regret later. If I really want to say it, and I feel I should, I have also learned to just accept the feedback I get back from whoever I am talking to.
I also decided that exercise is where it is at. I feel better when I am working. You know... endorphins. They make you happy. Just like they say in Legally Blonde. I can also work out my frustrations.
One more thing I have done, is to try and do more fun things. No more waiting for people to save money or ditch out on me last minute. If I have money and the time, I am going to do it. I am young, single, and free. I can do whatever I want. As long as I have the funds, and it is something I want to do.
I decided to make a goal for every day. Last weeks list went like this:
Monday: Go out to dinner with a friend.
Tuesday: Make a change
Wednesday: Relax
Thursday: Rent a movie
Friday: Try a new food
Saturday: Go out with a friend
I accomplished all of these, except for Friday. I was going to go to dinner with my brother and sister - in - law, but my sister - in - law got sick! No fun for her! I am going to try to do something that makes me happy. I just decided that it was time to do me, get out of funks, and do what I want to do. With or without approval from friends.

So what have I been up to lately? Well last week I went to the Midway Crater in Midway Utah with Zack. It is a 90 foot crater that you can swim in. The water is really warm.

Then that next Friday my mom and Paige's mom and Paige and I went to the Desert Star theater and dinner and had a lovely ladies night! It was really fun!

Then we had Easter. I had my family over at my parents house for strawberry waffles. It was really fun and I loved having them all over!

We were just missing Ashton and Lisa at our Easter Sunday. They were in St. George with her family.
Other then that I have been doing fun things like going to dinner with my gym buddy Cyndi, and then I got my hair blonde (the pic above was a couple days before I went blonde). I also am down 2 more pounds from my last weigh in which is good. Then last night I went to dinner and Nicklemania with some friends. That was a really good time, except there are no pictures LOL.
Anyway that is all of the updates from me right now. I am just living my life and doing what I can. No doubt I have been in a funk, and not sure exactly what I wanted to do, but I am figuring it out and stepping outside of it.
Until next time....

What's that? Oh I know... a big old slap in the face!
Good morning,
This past weekend was a true enjoyment because it was conference weekend. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. If you want to find out more about my religion click on this link, or click on this link to find out more too!! Everyday I try to be the person I need and want to be, but understanding this can be hard at times. I just love conference weekend (it happens twice a year - in April and in October). It is where we get to hear the leaders of our faith speak to us on the TV, live, radio, Internet, etc..
Well... every time I get a big old slap in the face of what I should be doing or need to be doing ... that maybe I am not. One of the quotes I got was :

Which is so true! You can choose to live the way you need or want to live. Which is why I love my religion! I am not trying to pressure anyone into looking into it or joining it. I understand that all religions and all views and opinions are beautiful and we all have the right and the freedom to express them (here in the good old USA).
I just know that this conference was truly a good reminder of who I want and need to be. It was a beautiful reminder of what I need to do to become the person I need and want to be in order to find the man I want and need.
I think some new goals for this month are in order. I made my new year's resolutions, but I need to set monthly, weekly, and daily goals in order to aspire hire. Truly.
Anyway that is my mushy - religious POV, I am not even going to apologize for it. If you don't like it, don't read it.
Until Next time!

Life Is BEAUTIFUL!
Life has been too kind to me lately. I have my wonderful family, my friends, and lots of things going for me. Even if I cannot decide between doing my masters or what the next thing is, I am just living my life.
Lately I have been paying my tithing, going to church more, and other such things. Well let me tell to what, I keep seeing the blessings pouring out!
Friday my manager asked me to come into her office. Yes I was scared. Super scared. Because no one wants to be asked to come to their office without an appointment. But then she said "it is good news I promise!". She proceeds to tell me that I my job description changed, and with that came a pay increase! She said this did not count my annual raise!!!
I went from making 14.00/hr to 15.41 an hour!!!!!!!!!!!! This is even before the annual raise! I have been on cloud nine!
I also pretty much have the COOLEST roommate ever, and we have a fun place to live and making great friends!
Needless to say, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!

2014 Update and a Makeup Review
2014 has been pretty good to me so far. I have been working hard on my fitness and I am down about 3 pounds. It is amazing to get back to where I am going. I have, however, had this problem with my makeup. I got a wonderful new makeup kit from Ulta. It is AMAZING it has everything in it and every color I could imagine.
My problem though has been getting nasty eye creases. My eyes haven't ever done this. So over the past two weeks I have tried the following:
- My base on my eyes.
- My Concealer on my eyes.
- 3 types of eye primer (Ulta, NYX, and ELF).
- Eye Primer and a clear powder.
- Just the clear powder.
- Nothing on my eyes.
It was getting so frustrating. I decided to turn to the famous Google in hopes for a solution. I read on a fashion magazine site (I cannot remember the name, so I apologize for no citing of sources). They said to try Loreal's "Decrease". Now it is called "Magic Decrease". It is about $8.00 at Target or Walmart, so I thought I should try it.

Ok here is the Verdict. Normally my eyes would crease around 2:00-4:30. Which is bad because that is when I am at work. So I tried my new product today and here it is 10:30 and they probably started to crease not even and hour ago! I am astonished. I am going to keep using this product and follow up with you all.
Obviously if you are going to go out and about after hours, you are going to want to reapply your make up, but so far I am IN LOVE with this product, and it is worth the money you spend. Let us just hope I do not eat my words later!
Well not too much to report on this end, so I will let you go. Until Next time!

Rekindling my Love for my Own Blog
Well Hello There!
As you can see it has been pretty much a year since I last wrote in this blog. I have been having many writing adventures in my writing on the wall blog, my big girl small problems, and obviously my broke girl in a coorperate world.
Not meaning to neglect my first child, but the year got busy. But as I promised myself last resolution year, I would blog more. Apparently in my mind that meant make more blogs.
I am going to start with some of my 2013 highlights. As that seems fitting.
In January I started the new year with my new weight loss plan with my brother's brother in law. I was doing really well. Then the holidays hit. I am going to start full force tomorrow. Considering today was a bad start. Weight loss... it has always been a challenge. Also in January my nephew Brady was born into our family! He is such a bright spirit just like the rest of them!
This is a pic of him just a week or so after he was born. He is so cute and big now!
In February I just continued to do my own weight loss, worked at the Intermountain Healthcare Salt Lake Clinic for the ENT department.
In March, I turned 24, and my mom and I went to Disney Land! It was truly the best trip by far with her. We had so much fun! Everyone said Happy Birthday to me!
In April, Paige got a job in Intermountain Healthcare collections. So we decided we were going to move in together. Well she got the intial job offer I think in March. So we started the process. Finally in May we found the apartment that we both liked, and moved in! We have so many adventures since!
June and July I was still working at the clinic, but in July I got a call from SelectHealth to have an interview for an office coordinator position. Lo and behold I got it!! I made a career change and left my SL Clinic ladies. I miss their friendships everyday, but I love the job I have been at. I left the clinic on August 2nd, and started at SelectHealth August 5, 2013. It was a scary but exciting change!
August was just wonderful, new job, living on my own with my best friend! But September was full of exciting things! Our dearest friend Kim got married, we went and saw Muse IN CONCERT (my first rock concert ever), and we also hosted her bachelorette party, and went to her bridal shower. September was the month of weddings and concerts. We also saw James Taylor with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir!
October we went to a superhero concert with the Utah Symphony.
And then November and December we had Thanksgiving and Christmas. Went and saw the lights, and had a lot of crazy adventures with our friends and families.
I have had such a fun and productive year! I went on a few trips, moved, got a new job, saw my favorite band live, we had a wedding in our three amigos, and so many more adventures!
I cannot wait to see what 2014 has to offer. I am working on my goals for the new year. And I am not sure what it will bring. Hopefully more joy and fun to me and my family.
I hope your year has been wonderful and that 2014 is just as great as ever!
Until Next time!

A Christmas Letter, and a Holiday Greeting!
Dear Friends and Family,
What a year it has been for me. I am so grateful for each and everyone of you in my life. Some have brought me happiness and others have taught me important lessons about myself and who I want to be and not be.
I started this year off with really no idea of what would be next. I had just finished school with my Bachelors in Communication Studies and Public Relations. I kept looking for that one job that would make me feel like a star.
One fateful day my mom (who works at the Salt Lake Clinic for IHC) told me to apply for a job with her clinic for the Ears, Nose and Throat department. I applied, interviewed and got the job. Needless to say it was never my intention to stay as long as I have had, but it has been one of the greatest blessings in my life. I work with amazing people and love every minute that I do. We recently moved into our new clinic, and even though my job duties have slightly changed (adding check in to the mix, and working with eye), it is not so bad. I continue to look for more opportunities to grow in my career.
This year has brought sorrows and happiness, deaths and births, and true miracles. It has been a year that I have had to relocate myself and relearn who I am. I have always known where I wanted to go, and what I wanted to do, but this year has been a good chance to find myself again.
I have such great people in my life, and I also learned that not everyone is going to love you, not everyone is going to appreciate you, but in the end, you have to be true to yourself and even if it is not what other people like, it has to be for you.
Recently one of my decisions in my life has been to continue my education and go into my Masters of Business Administration at Western Governors University, which is an online school. So far things are going swimmingly.
This year has been truly fascinating, and hard in its own way. I hope that all my hard work will pay off and I can have another great year.
To you and your family, from myself, Merry Christmas... and a Happy New Year!
Love,
Adriana Steadman
