What Alpha Phi Means To Me!

So I haven't posted for a while but I just wanted to say that school is okay I am having a hard time really enjoying this semester but I am trying so hard! Alpha Phi is the reason I want to be here at SUU! If it weren't for Alpha Phi I would probably be in Salt Lake going to SLCC, which would not be bad at all, I would have a job, just no friends. I also got a little sister in Alpha Phi and that is good. I love my mission prep class, I miss my family like crazy and when I am sad I think of something funny Brielle or the boys have done and it makes me smile. My little's name is Kelly and she is so awesome I just love her to pieces. I hope that I am a good big for her and that she knows she can come to me for anything, and if I seem stressed, no worries, I am the Chaplain and Idays are soon so that is why! Peace Love and Prosperity!

Recent Life

These are pictures from Inductions. I was in charge of them and they went smoothly. I love being Chaplain. I hope some of the girls consider doing it and expanding more on what I have done, I have tried to expand on what amazing thing Leslie did, the Chaplain before me.

Oh what a GREAT weekend!!!!

So this weekend was a lot of fun!!! We had rush week for Alpha Phi and got about 25 new girls to add to our 30 AMAZING actives! So first of all On Thursday I had to plan Pref but that went SO SMOOTHLY!!
Then on Friday we had Bid Day party, went to the Sigma Chi Dance Party at their house, made an appearance at the lame institute dance. Okay so institute dances would NOT be so lame if every song wasn't Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, or the Jonas Brothers. More people would probably attend. Then we went and saw sorority row at 12am. Cedar City is pretty cool about having midnight movies whenever a new movie is out. This movie was supposed to be scary, it was all boobs and the F word... but if you ignore that then it was really good. I did not think that it was too scary for the fact that it was more suspenseful then anything. You would scream and hide (or at least I did) during the parts you were supposed to... then laugh about how stupid it was!!! All of the audience were Greeks or friends of Greeks, and two random couples that probably thought we were super annoying... I am sorry.
On Saturday our wonderful male representative (Bordeaux beau [our male representative of Alpha Phi) Andrew, made us breakfast, then I went to brunch at denny's with my roomie Haley and Ashley who is bomb.com :) and it was a good time. Then in the evening I went to cafe rio (oh yeah Cedar has one of THOSE now! We are getting more civilized) with a few people and then we went to the highlight of my whole weekend! ELDER COOK SPOKE TO US!!! He came to a fireside and every word he said was so needed. I got something out of it that other people did not. If you saw my notes, you would say "where in the world did that come from" well it was certainly needed for me personally.
Sunday I went to church, and my roommate Haley got a little sickly but its all good.
Minus the fact that the majority of my house is sick, NOT ME :), everything is going well! I hope that this week is just as awesome as this past week was! Until next time folks!!!

Labor Day Weekend!

This weekend was super fun! We went to Panguitch Utah at my Aunt's Cabin! It was so cute! We got to go fishing and to Bryce's on a hike... and ride the 4 wheeler... good times. Here are some pics!

Fire!!!!

Fire is a very mystical but beautiful thing. It makes the sun orange and the sunsets beautiful!!! But of course the on call evacuations of New Harmony residents is no bueno. But the sky has been smoky but lovely all at the same time. It is a bipolar situation. Ah Fire!

The First week of School, home sweet home.

Home sweet home, this is my new house! This is the Alpha Phi House, this is my new home. You Kind of got to see just my room from the previous pictures, but now you get a more in depth look into my life.

This is one of my roommates and sisters, Kelly. She is taking a picture with one of the many cats that invade this house. I do not know why they love our house so much, but they do.

These are the amazing letters our brother Fraternity Sigma Chi (Kye not Chee) gave us in the Spring. They are pretty much bomb.com and I love my backpack, its pretty neat!

Sometimes I like to hit my head when I go into the basement where my closet is and some of the other pics are. I had to clean it today so I felt it was safe to take pictures of. You just have to duck when you go down stairs.

This is the den, I wish the pic wasn't sideways but its really cute. You can study down there and log in hours from school and earn prizes!!!

This is the actual study room. My parents donated the desk on the left. We even have a bowl of suckers to suck on to keep your brain a running.

Now we are entering the kitchen area, its pretty tight, this is where I make easy mac for dinner, and cereal for breakfast.

This is the living room up a head and this is where we watch television and have movie nights. Bomb.

School is going okay so far. I am still waiting for my Chemistry book but I love my classes thus far. Ask me in a couple weeks when it gets more and more difficult. I found out the other day that I don't have chemistry labs till the 14 of September, it made me happy. I am taking Mission Prep and I love it, I love being more in tune with the spirit, its awesome. I am taking News Writing and so far so good. Another class is Chemistry and I like it Samha is funny. I was supposed to have Steffenson but he traded, but its cool cause Samha is my lab teacher too. I am taking Advanced Public Speaking and Nonverbal Communication on Tuesdays and Thursdays with Huett, he is a really cool professor, and sometimes pretty laid back. I just found out we don't need the assigned book in that class, too bad I bought it and its coming through in the mail. I will just re sell it, if I ever get it. I am mentoring two classes for Jill Wilks and I love it so much, but I do need another job. I am looking and sometimes I do not even know where to start. But the school year is coming along. First week is down... 12 more to go? I do not know. Until Next time...

The uneventful Last week and moving in!!

So this week was not very fun, I had mashed potatoes all the time and cannot to this day suck through a straw until Friday because of my wisdom teeth. It was a smooth process. But I am glad that it is over with. Well two days before I went back to school I decided it was a good idea to keep my chick-fil-a mug by my laptop, well Ashton accidentally knocked it over. Luckily Cameron is a genious and he figured out that it would never work, he may be able to save the hard drive, but I had to get a new one. It was in a deal at Best Buy where you got the lap top, a printer, and a case for 300 dollars, maybe 400, but its a pretty sweet deal. Its and Acer, here are some pics:

Home sweet Alpha Phi Home

So I am here at the Alpha Phi house it my own little corner of my shared room. It is still a work in progress because of course the roommie has to move in tomorrow (I guess today). It is going to be interesting seeing as I am new to the whole sharing a room thing, never had to do it growing up type of a thing. There may need to be some rearranging of course to accomidate for both of our needs for our stuff, but I am pretty sure this year is going to be good. I still have some straightening up to do, and some storage finding within the house. I hope that I can be a good roommate to the girls, but I am afraid that they are going to have pet peeves with me, and not love me like they did before. I am trying so hard to avoid conflict if possible, but if something goes wrong I do want to be able to address the issue. I have only been here since Friday and only me Kristy, Bri and Kalle (sometimes) are here at the moment. I truly just pray that every girl can get past their issues with the other girls and just know that we all need to get along in order to not want to kill each other.
